Payments deduct from your account, but because you aren't using your primary debit card number for the purchase, there's an extra layer of protection.
Reduce the impact of potential fraud by deleting cards and creating new cards frequently to limit the number of times you make payments with any one card.

What are Virtual Cards?
Virtual Cards are unique sets of numbers, expiration dates, and security codes that are tied to your Porte account. You can generate a 16-digit Virtual Card number in the app and use that card to make payments online or over the phone. Because you can delete your virtual card after use, virtual cards give you greater security and control over your online purchases. Once deleted, the virtual card number cannot be used to make additional purchases. This means that if a merchant’s system were ever hacked, you could delete your Virtual Card to make the compromised card information useless to fraudsters. You may request up to six (6) active Virtual Cards.1 Virtual Cards are subject to the same fees, limits, terms, and conditions as your Account. See your Deposit Account Agreement for details.
Do I need to have my physical card before creating a Virtual Card?
There’s no need to wait for your physical card. You can create Virtual Cards in the Porte app as soon as your account has been created.
Where can I use Porte Virtual Cards?
Virtual Cards can only be used for online or phone transactions. You can use these cards the way you would normally use a debit card for payment.
Can I use a Porte Virtual Card with Apple Wallet® or Google Pay™?
Virtual Cards cannot be used at merchants using Apple Wallet or Google Pay.
How many Virtual Cards can I create?
Each Porte account can have up to six Virtual Cards at one time.1 You can create and delete your Virtual Cards within the “Card Management” area of the Porte app.
How do I create a Virtual Card?
After creating a Porte account, log into the Porte app. On the dashboard, select “Virtual Cards”. On the Card Management screen, select “Add card” and follow the steps.
How do I delete a Virtual Card?
Log into the Porte app. Access the “Card Management” section of the app by selecting “Virtual Cards”. On the Card Management screen, navigate to the Virtual Card you would like to delete and select “Settings”. Then, select “Delete Virtual Card”.
